INTERSCHUTZ takes place once every four years and is the world’s leading trade fair for fire and rescue services, civil protection, safety and security. For LANCO, it is also close to home. LANCO Group is headquartered in Hanover, so this global event took place in our own backyard.
This June, LANCO brought a large aluminum hangar to Hanover. It was the kind of hangar designed for deployment at an incident site, but this time we assembled it inside a convention hall. In just two days, our team had it ready before 140,000 visitors from 144 countries walked through the doors of INTERSCHUTZ.
The Structure on Display
The aluminum hangar, measuring 33.5 feet long, 27.6 feet wide, and 16.4 feet high, formed the outer shell of our booth. Inside, we set up an exoskeleton shelter RDT S 200 at 11.2 feet high, connected to a Rapid Expeditionary Shelter RES 200 at 8.5 feet high. Two tent systems, linked together, inside a hangar. Everything was live for visitors to see, enter, and experience firsthand.
Our assembly team spent two days making sure the full setup performed under trade show conditions. Fire and rescue professionals were able to see exactly how the systems connect and what these solutions look and feel like at operational scale.

What was Inside
Beyond the structures, we brought the accessories that turn a shelter into a fully functional operational base: HVAC units, heaters, new bunk beds that can be used individually or stacked, folding beds, bluLEU lighting systems and water purification solutions. Every component was there for visitors to handle, not just read about in a spec sheet.
Our CEO, Nicolas Abé, was at the booth to answer visitors’ questions, joined by colleagues from across the team: Frank Blume, Christian Möller, and Jörg Penzold from bluLEU, our sales team Sybille Schmidthammer and Udo Herlitze, Business Intelligence Specialist Maximilian Abé, and our intern Theresa Abé.

LANCO Tents Spotted with the German Red Cross
Midway through the show, we spotted the German Red Cross field hospital display across the hall. The tents in that setup were manufactured by LANCO.
Seeing our shelters in active use by one of Europe’s largest humanitarian organizations, on the floor of the world’s leading fire and rescue trade fair, was not something we had planned. It was simply great to see.

We put together a short video from the show floor: watch it here.
